Presidential Citizens Medal Recipient Dr. David D. Ho M.D.

Dr. David D. Ho is Scientific Director of the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center and a Professor at The Rockefeller University. He received the Presidential Citizens Medal in 2001, the Hoechst Marion Roussel Award in 1999, and was named Time magazine's 1996 Man of the Year for his pioneering treatment for HIV infection. Dr. Ho has also received the Ernst Jung Prize in Medicine, the Squibb Award of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the New York City Mayor's Award for Excellence in Science and Technology. He is a Council Member for the Office of AIDS Research at the National Institutes of Health, a member of Academia Sinica and a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Science. He also serves on the board of trustees of the California Institute of Technology and the board of overseers for Harvard University. Dr. Ho received his M.D. from Harvard Medical School.
